Saint Joseph
Feast: March 19
The quiet, faithful foster father of Jesus and husband of Mary.
Their Story
Joseph was a carpenter who married Mary and took care of Baby Jesus. He kept Mary and Jesus safe. When a bad king wanted to hurt Jesus, an angel told Joseph in a dream to take them to Egypt. Joseph obeyed right away. He was strong and gentle and loved his family very much. Jesus probably helped Joseph in his carpenter shop as He grew up!
The Lesson
St. Joseph never said a word in Scripture, but he listened to God and obeyed. Quiet faithfulness is its own kind of greatness.
