Sacraments of Initiation

The gateway to Christian life. Through water and the Spirit, we are freed from sin and reborn as God's children.

Completes baptismal grace. The Holy Spirit strengthens the confirmed to spread and defend the faith.

The source and summit of Christian life. The Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ are truly present under the appearances of bread and wine.

Sacraments of Healing

Through the priest's ministry, the penitent receives God's forgiveness for sins committed after Baptism. Also called Confession.

John 20:23 · CCC 1422–1498

For the seriously ill, those facing surgery, or the elderly. Confers grace to unite suffering with Christ.

James 5:14 · CCC 1499–1532

Sacraments of Service

The sacrament by which men are ordained as deacons, priests, or bishops to serve through preaching and sacraments.

The covenant by which a man and woman establish a lifelong partnership, ordered to the good of the spouses and children.
