The Good Samaritan
Luke 10:25–37
A parable about loving our neighbor — even strangers.
The Story
A lawyer asked Jesus, 'Who is my neighbor?' Jesus told a story: A man traveling the road to Jericho was attacked by robbers and left for dead. A priest passed him by. A Levite passed him by. But a Samaritan — a foreigner — saw the man, had compassion, bandaged his wounds, and paid an innkeeper to care for him. Jesus asked, 'Which one was a neighbor?' 'The one who showed mercy.' Jesus said, 'Go and do likewise.'
The Lesson
Loving our neighbor is not about whom we feel close to — it is about whom we are willing to help, no matter who they are.
