What happens
On Sundays and Solemnities a Second Reading, taken from the Apostle (the Letters or Revelation), is read from the and concluded in the same way as the First Reading.
Why it happens
The use of a second reading on Sundays and Solemnities provides a richer share of God's Word and reflects the Church's desire, renewed by the Council, that the treasures of the Bible be opened more lavishly to the faithful.
