Saint Paul

Paul was first named Saul. He was a very religious Jew who hated Christians — he even dragged them to jail! One day, while traveling to a city called Damascus to arrest more Christians, a bright light from heaven knocked him to the ground. A voice said, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?' It was Jesus. Saul was blind for three days. A Christian named Ananias prayed over him, and he could see again. Saul was baptized and became a Christian. He changed his name to Paul. From that day on, Paul spent his whole life traveling from country to country, preaching about Jesus. He was beaten, shipwrecked, put in prison — but he never stopped. He wrote letters to the churches he started, and those letters are in the Bible. Paul was finally killed for his faith in Rome.
