Moses in the Basket
Exodus 1–2
A Hebrew baby is saved from the river and grows up in Pharaoh's palace.
The Story
Pharaoh was afraid of the Hebrew people, so he ordered that every baby boy be thrown into the river. One Hebrew mother hid her baby as long as she could. When she could hide him no longer, she made a little basket of reeds, placed him in it, and set him afloat on the Nile. Pharaoh's daughter found the baby and raised him as her own. She named him Moses, which means 'drawn out of the water.'
The Lesson
Even when powerful people try to do harm, God protects those He has chosen. He can use the smallest and weakest to do the greatest things.
