St. Simon the Zealot
Apostle
Feast Day: October 28
Biography
St. Simon the Zealot was one of the Twelve Apostles. The epithet 'Zealot' may indicate he was formerly a member of the Jewish Zealot movement or simply that he was zealous for the law. After Pentecost, tradition says he preached in Egypt, North Africa, and Persia, where he was martyred — some traditions say he was sawn in half. He is often paired with St. Jude Thaddeus, with whom he shares a feast day.

Prayer
St. Simon, Apostle full of zeal, help me to be passionate in my faith and tireless in sharing the Gospel. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Asking for Intercession
Catholics ask saints to pray with us and for us, as we ask friends on earth. St. Simon the Zealot, who lives in God's presence, intercedes before His throne. Speak from your heart: “St. Simon the Zealot, please pray for me…” You may also pray the prayer above or include this intention in your Rosary.
