St. Philip the Apostle
Apostle
Feast Day: May 3
Biography
St. Philip was from Bethsaida and was one of the first disciples called by Jesus. He immediately found Nathanael (Bartholomew) and brought him to Christ with the invitation: 'Come and see.' At the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus tested Philip by asking how they could feed the crowd. At the Last Supper, Philip asked: 'Lord, show us the Father,' to which Jesus replied: 'Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.' According to tradition, he preached in Greece, Syria, and Phrygia, where he was martyred by crucifixion.

Prayer
St. Philip, you invited others to 'come and see' Christ. Help me to lead others to Jesus with the same simple confidence. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Asking for Intercession
Catholics ask saints to pray with us and for us, as we ask friends on earth. St. Philip the Apostle, who lives in God's presence, intercedes before His throne. Speak from your heart: “St. Philip the Apostle, please pray for me…” You may also pray the prayer above or include this intention in your Rosary.
