Saint Bernadette

Bernadette was a poor, sick girl in France. She lived in a tiny room with her family. One day in 1858, while gathering firewood by a river, a beautiful lady dressed in white and blue appeared to her in a cave! The lady visited Bernadette eighteen times. She told Bernadette to dig in the ground — and a spring of water came up! Bernadette asked the lady her name, and the lady said, 'I am the Immaculate Conception.' It was the Blessed Virgin Mary! Today, millions of people go to Lourdes, France, and many sick people are healed by the water.
